"After
an illness of over two years, Alexander A. McKenzie ceased from
his suffering on last Thursday night; being in his 40th year. At
the funeral on Saturday morning, [Dartmouth] President Tucker spoke
in words not
overdrawn respecting his exceeding high moral worth and excellence of
character. At the time of his death he was superintendent of the
college buildings, nearly one half of his life having been spent with
Dartmouth
as student and officer. The remains were taken to Burke, New
York for interment."
